Liebe Tennisfreunde,

wir hoffen, es geht Euch gut und Ihr habt die Schwierigkeiten der letzten Monate gut überstanden. Mit großen Schritten schreitet das Jahr voran und die Hallensaison hat in vielen Städten bereits Einzug gehalten. Doch gerade diese Hallensaison, auf die sich so mancher schon freut, bringt neuerliche Herausforderungen für Turnierveranstalter. Einige Veranstalter werden all den Schwierigkeiten trotzen und jedes Risiko in Kauf nehmen, um für Euch ein tolles Event zu organisieren.

Auch wir wollten einer dieser Veranstalter sein und zu Beginn waren wir voller Zuversicht. Gespräche mit der Gemeinde haben uns hoffen lassen, dass Eure Wünsche nach neuen Plätzen und neuem Licht endlich erhört werden. Durch diese positive Rückmeldung und die Unterstützung des Tourismusverbands wollten wir wieder richtig durchstarten und Euch ein tolles Turnier bieten. Doch vor einigen Wochen platzte leider dieser Traum von den neuen Plätzen und das erhoffte Durchstarten bekam wieder einen Dämpfer.

Trotzdem wollten wir nicht aufgeben und fingen an, das Event neuerlich zu planen. Schnell wurde uns jedoch bewusst, dass aufgrund von Covid-19 der Personalaufwand wegen gewisser Richtlinien erhöht werden müsste. Diese Erkenntnis gepaart mit der Ungewissheit der Teilnehmerzahl macht eine genaue Planung sowie eine Kalkulierbarkeit des Turniers nahezu unmöglich.

Schweren Herzens müssen wir Euch daher mitteilen, dass die ESO im Januar 2022 leider abgesagt werden muss. Aber es gibt einen Lichtblick: Diese Absage betrifft lediglich den Termin, denn das Turnier soll im Laufe des Sommers nachgeholt werden. Wir hoffen, Euch aber im Januar 2023 wieder in gewohnter Form und zum gewohnten Zeitpunkt in Seefeld begrüßen zu dürfen.  

Bezüglich des Sommertermins werden wir Euch noch updaten. Vielleicht habt Ihr ja auch einmal Lust, Seefeld zu einer anderen Jahreszeit zu erkunden. Wir würden uns jedenfalls sehr freuen, Euch Seefeld im Sommer näherzubringen.

Dear players,

We hope this message finds you well and that you have found ways to cope with these still difficult times. The end of 2021 is coming closer and tennis is slowly moving from red clay back to indoor facilities all around us. But this indoor season – despite being very welcome for some of you – creates new problems especially for tournament organizers. Some of the organizers will try their very best and will fight all difficulties to offer you events in hopefully safe environments.

We also wanted to be one of these organizers and we have been very optimistic to host a great event again in Seefeld. Meetings with the council of the local community stirred up high hopes that the overdue reconstruction of the courts would begin very soon. With this positive information and the support of the tourism agency of Seefeld we wanted to organize another memorable event for you. Unfortunately, these hopes came to an end a few weeks ago and the dream of going back to good all times vanished into thin air.

However, we didn’t want to give up and started with the preparations for next year’s event. During this planning process, we realized that organizing an indoor event would become much more difficult. New requirements by the government due to Covid-19 are causing big problems for organizers. For example, there is a new control system required, which needs more helping hands and therefore would create further challenges for our tournament. This realization paired with the uncertainty of the number of participants makes the calculation and planning process very difficult.

Sadly, we have to admit that we are unable to organize the ESO in January 2022. But there is a silver lining: this cancellation is only a postponement and we will try to organize the tournament in summer 2022. In 2023, we hope to be back on court in January and would be very happy to welcome you back in Seefeld during wintertime.

We will give you more detailed information about the summer tournament as soon as possible. Maybe some of you would like to experience Seefeld at a different time of the year? We would be very happy to help you explore this charming town high up in the mountains during a different season.
